Medication Technician Training Program (MTTP)

Our MTTP course is for any individuals other than registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs) who administer medication on a routine basis (under the supervision of an RN Supervisor); as required by of the Nurse Practice Act (Annotated Code of Maryland, Health Occupations Article, Title 8, COMAR Title 10, Subtitle 27.11.05). The certification must be renewed every two years on the birth month of the individual.

Pre-requisites to the course:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must pass a basic reading comprehension and basic math pre-test
  • Must be an employee in an Assisted Living, Department of Juvenile Services, School Health or Developmental Disabilities Administration facility.

Initial MTTP

  • 20 hour/ 4 day course
  • Cost- call the office

The following items are required before the 1st day of class.

Student Manual (included in cost, and provided in class)

  • One (1) passport photo 2×2 in size
  • One (1) $20.00 money order made payable to the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON)

Recertification MTTP

  • 4 hour/ 1 day course

The Recertification Course is only for individuals who are currently working at a facility where an RN Supervisor can supervise your training and sign off on your Renewal Certification Application.

The following items are required for the Renewal MTTP class

Student Manual (included in cost and provided in class)

Renewal Certification Application (obtained only from the MBON)

  • Fill out in black ink only!
  • Have the RN at your facility sign the renewal application before class
  • $30.00 online payment on the Maryland Board of Nursing website.

CPR & First Aid Classes

Our Delegating Nurse and administrator are authorized trainer of First Aid & CPR courses by American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Our courses meet OSHA requirements and students receive a completion card, valid for two years, upon successful completion of the course.

This course is for individuals with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. (eg. Teachers, CNA’s, CMT’s)

Infection Control / Blood Borne Pathogens Training

Our OSHA blood borne pathogens training course provide students with the basic essential knowledge necessary to help reduce or eliminate the occupational risk of bloodborne pathogens. The goal of this course is to help students understand the risks and develop behaviors that will help protect them when they are exposed to potentially infectious material.
